Mandatory Credit: Brendan Mcdermid-Reuters via Imagn Images<!-- --> <!-- --> <\/span><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"section-1\">\n<p>PGA Tour star Justin Thomas announced Friday that he has undergone disc surgery to address back issues, which will cause him to miss the early part of the 2026 season.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"section-2\">\n<p>A successful microdiscectomy was performed Thursday in New York, per Thomas, alleviating a disc problem that had been causing hip pain.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"section-3\">\n<p>Thomas, 32, is a 16-time PGA event champion, having won the PGA Championship in 2017 and 2022.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"section-4\">\n<p>He posted the news on Instagram, saying in part, &#8220;I&#8217;m not putting any tournament on the calendar or specific time for returning.
