Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery is expected to play against the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday despite dealing with an illness, NFL Network reported.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Montgomery did not participate in practice on Tuesday and was limited during Wednesday’s session before being listed as questionable to play in the game.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Star Jahmyr Gibbs likely will handle the lion’s share of the workload in the backfield for Detroit (8-7), which is attempting to keep its playoff hopes alive against Minnesota (7-8) in Minneapolis.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Montgomery has rushed for 649 yards and eight touchdowns in 15 games this season.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n
