Mandatory Credit: Bob Donnan-Imagn Images <\/span><\/div>\n<\/section>\nSt. Louis City acquired American midfielder Dante Polvara from Scotland’s Aberdeen FC on Friday.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n The 25-year-old former Georgetown star is signed through the 2027-28 MLS season with an option for 2028-29.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n “We’re excited to bring Dante to St. Louis and believe he will add quality and competition to our group,” sporting director Corey Wray said. “He is a versatile player who can impact games in both defense and in midfield, and at 6-foot-4, he brings an imposing physical presence while still being technically clean on the ball.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n <\/p>\n “He’s still young but has gained valuable experience from Scotland and European competition, which will help him contribute right away.”<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Polvara tallied six goals and seven assists in 93 appearances since making his pro debut with Aberdeen in 2022. He helped the club win the Scottish Cup last season.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n St. Louis sent up to $150,000 in general allocation money to New York City FC to acquire his right of first refusal.
