The multi-year distribution deal with Disney+ will also see Sky debut a dedicated Disney+ Cinema linear channel. Disney<span>\u00a0<\/span><u><a class=\"OWAAutoLink\" id=\"OWA7ffc4777-f546-c275-6c7a-a2668e87f84d\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/tv\/global\/sky-disney-plus-deal-uk-bundle-netflix-1236658229\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"disney plus netflix deal\" onclick=\"return Webmail.Widgets.Email.Message.evLinkClick(this);\">predict<\/a><\/u><span>\u00a0<\/span>the agreement will Disney+&#8217;s reach in the UK and Ireland up by around 40%.<\/p>\n<p>New customers will be able to receive HBO Max, Disney+ and Netflix (and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hayu.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Hayu\">Hayu<\/a>) alongside Sky\u2019s own channels and originals as part of Sky Ultimate TV from \u00a324 ($27.50) a month. These are the with-ads tiers though customers could upgrade to premium versions.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"elementToProof\">Stacking Streaming Subscriptions Skyward<\/h2>\n<p>&#8220;Sky&#8217;s Super Bundle reflects what consumers have been wanting for some time now. After years of fragmentation, stacking subscriptions, juggling multiple bills and managing multiple logins, fatigue has set in,\u201d says <a href=\"https:\/\/www.streamingmedia.com\/Articles\/ReadArticle.aspx?ArticleID=173233\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Q&amp;A: Bango VP Marketing Giles Tongue Talks Netflix-Warner Bros. and the Future of SVOD Bundling\">Giles Tongue, subscriptions expert at Bango<\/a>.<u\/><\/p>\n<p>Two-thirds (66%) of UK subscribers believe there are now too many subscription services, and 60% say they can&#8217;t afford all the ones they want, according to Bango figures. \u201cConsumers want simplicity: one place to access, manage and pay for the services they value \u2014 and 55% say they want a single app to manage all of their subscriptions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The move comes just days after Warner Bros. Discovery<span>\u00a0<\/span><u><a class=\"OWAAutoLink\" id=\"OWAac24bec2-c6b6-d46e-aa9b-bb8991d90702\" href=\"https:\/\/press.wbd.com\/us\/media-release\/hbo-max-launch-uk-ireland-thursday-march-26?language_content_entity=en\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"hbo max launches in uk and ireland\" onclick=\"return Webmail.Widgets.Email.Message.evLinkClick(this);\">announced<\/a><\/u><span>\u00a0<\/span>the long-awaited launch date for HBO Max into the UK and Ireland. This will land March 26 for a monthly fee of \u00a34.99 ($6.80) with ads or \u00a39.99 ($13.60) standard ad-free.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is good timing on Sky&#8217;s part,\u201d says Tongue. \u201cGrowth in standalone streaming subscriptions is slowing, and competition is high. Bundling increases perceived value, strengthens the direct customer relationship and reduces subscriber turnover.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Further Bango research indicates 63% of UK consumers already have a &#8216;forever subscription&#8217; they always keep and never pause, meaning \u201cSky has a real opportunity to become that indispensable,\u201d according to Tongue. \u201cBy aggregating major streaming platforms, Sky positions itself as the gateway to premium entertainment rather than just another broadband, TV or content provider.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"elementToProof\">Surfacing Sky Content<\/h2>\n<p>Sky says the combined lineup will be surfaced through the Sky OS on Sky Stream and Sky Glass, including personalised recommendations, cross-app Continue Watching (extended to Disney+ and Hayu), unified playlists and voice search across services.\u00a0All customers of Sky streaming service NOW Entertainment will get free access to HBO Max at no extra cost, fully integrated within the NOW app.<\/p>\n<p>Calling it \u201ca new era for Sky\u201d Sophia Ahmad, Chief Consumer Officer at Sky<span>\u00a0<\/span><u><a class=\"OWAAutoLink\" id=\"OWAb63512bd-9838-23a0-9a2c-1132602c516c\" href=\"https:\/\/www.skygroup.sky\/en-gb\/article\/sky-brings-together-netflix-disney-hbo-max-and-hayu-into-one-single-subscription-exclusively-on-sky\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"sky brings together netflix hbo disney hayu\" onclick=\"return Webmail.Widgets.Email.Message.evLinkClick(this);\">said<\/a><\/u>, \u201cNowhere else offers this breadth of incredible entertainment in a fully integrated experience, with everything customers love watching side by side so viewers can jump from show to show with ease.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tongue believes Sky&#8217;s mega bundle could fire the starting pistol for a new wave of &#8216;super bundles&#8217; competing well beyond traditional pay TV. \u201cWe&#8217;re already seeing subscription marketplaces emerge across telcos, banks and other platforms, where TV streaming is packaged alongside gaming, music, fitness and more. The next phase of growth won&#8217;t be driven by content alone, but by smarter distribution, bundling strategy, and subscription management.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut delivering this sort of bundle package at such a scale is extremely operationally complex,\u201d he warns. \u201cSeamless partner onboarding, real-time entitlement and activation, unified billing and data insight are critical. Without the right infrastructure, bundles at this scale risk creating friction instead of loyalty.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"elementToProof\">HBO in UK and Ireland<\/h2>\n<p>For WBD, the UK &amp; Ireland launch of HBO Max marks \u201ca major milestone as it completes its European rollout.\u201d For Q3 2025, Warner Bros. Discovery reported 128 million streaming subscribers.<\/p>\n<p>HBO Max combines content from HBO, Warner Bros. Pictures, Warner Bros. Television, DC Studios and Max Originals. This includes the new\u00a0Harry Potter TV series\u00a0available as a HBO Max exclusive, as will the new DC series Lanterns, which premieres this Summer.<\/p>\n<p>In the UK, HBO Max will also become the streaming home of TNT Sports, giving subscribers access to live sports including Premier League, UEFA Champions League, Premiership Women\u2019s Rugby and UFC.<\/p>\n<p>WBD has a pre-existing distribution partnership with Amazon Prime Video in the UK which will see HBO Max plans available via Prime Video. The deal to acquire the streaming platforms not to mention content of Warner Bros. Studios means this is likely an underestimate in both deadline and sheer mass of consumers that now comes under its wing.
